Attractions

Washington County is full of great attractions, and all of them are a quick car ride from Scenic Hill. Here are some favorite places to visit:

WATER SPORTS & FISHING:

Fishing and kayak/canoe and boat rentals are available nearby at Lake Somerville State Park and at Lake Somerville Marina.

On the Colorado River you can take the family tubing at Waldo's Camp (cash only) &  Howell Canoe Livery can accomodate kayak/canoe shuttle.

FUN MUSEUMS:

Washington On the Brazos State Park
Brenham Heritage Museum

ROUND TOP: (Take our Day Trip!)

Round Top is a neat little town with several local attractions worth seeing
Round Top
Henkel Square, Bybee Square
Festival Hill at Round Top.
Visit the Junk Gypsies at Gypsyville.
 
WINERIES:   (Take our Day Trip!)
 
Pleasant Hill Winery
Saddlehorn Winery – On 360 Acre Ranch.
Texas Star Winery – In Chappell Hill
Buffalo Creek (Wine/Beer/Food) – Just south of Bellville on Hwy 36.  They have a very nice indoor-outdoor wine-tasting facility.  Call for information on weekend events, food and live music.
 
GARDENS:

The Antique Rose Emporium  This is a national recognized garden and a beautiful place to visit and walk around, with extensive rose and wildflower gardens in addition to craft beers to enjoy.
